LOVAG Testing

The Low Voltage Agreement Group stands for high competence in testing and certification of low voltage industrial equipment.

Testing for LOVAG Certification is consequently following the requirements of the IEC-  and EN-Standards for low voltage industrial equipment.

LOVAG Test Instructions (LTI) are developed by experts  and approved by the LOVAG Technical Committee in order to harmonies all testing of the LOVAG registered Laboratories. The results have to be reported on LOVAG Test Report Forms (TRF) being elaborated for more than 40 IEC- and EN-Standards and are approved by the LOVAG Technical Committee. In these TRFs detailed values are  given about the applied loads and the measured values of  each clause of the standard.

By this the manufacturer can convince the customer about the quality of his product  and the authorities can have confidence in the LOVAG Certificates. The TRFs are continuously updated according to the actual edition of the standards and the actual TRFs are available by download for the members of the LOVAG registered Laboratories.

LOVAG Certification


Testing for LOVAG Certification have to be performed in LOVAG registered Laboratories which may be:  

  • Independent third party laboratories
  • Manufactures laboratories under the supervision of a LOVAG Observer (SMT)
  • Manufacturers laboratory witnessed by a LOVAG Certification Body using a 
    LOVAG Technical Witnesser (WMT)
